I have served as the Art Curator for the galleries at the Dunn Center since 2022. Finding new artists and providing opportunities for them to share their work with our community has been one of the most rewarding aspects of the position.
I especially enjoy seeing the gallery transformed with each new exhibition and witnessing the excitement artists feel when they see their work displayed on the walls.
As an artist myself, and after teaching art for 31 years, serving as a curator has been a natural and fulfilling extension of my career.
The Mims Gallery and the Tar River Art Gallery are exceptional spaces, featuring more than 150 works of art created by 36–40 talented artists. In addition to enjoying the exhibitions, visitors can purchase beautiful original artwork and unique gifts throughout the year during the Dunn Center Box Office’s regular business hours.
